On May 24th 2020 the Lord called a great man home. William was born to J’Darc C. Bouchard and his biological father, Armand R. Thibodeau on July 22nd, 1959. Then was adopted by, Robert J. Cote. He went to Lisbon High School and graduated with the class of 1979. He enjoyed cooking, watching his children play sports, and was the state representative of Maine from 1998 to 2002. He married his first wife, Deborah Cote they then had 2 children; Billy, who passed away just 3 days after his birth in 1982, then the birth of their son, Ronald in 1986. The two went separate ways after their 24 years of marriage. He then met Heather Johnson who he shared another son Elijah in 2004. William and Heather were never married but they shared a close friendship. He also helped raise 2 of her other children; Trystin from the time he was six and Brynne since the age of one. He loved them as his own. William was a jokester and loved life he was full of advice and encouragement. Everyone who came in contact with him really enjoyed his company.  He was well liked by so many.

William was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, and many other members of his large family. He is survived by son, Ronald & Teshia Cote of Lewiston, Maine; children, Elijah Cote, Trystin Johnson and Brynne Johnson; and their mother, Heather Johnson all of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Zackary, Jaden, Peighton, and Nevaeh all of Lewiston, Maine; sisters, Lisa Thibodeau of Lewiston, Maine, Cathy Thibodeau of Norway, Maine, and Nancy Bilodeau of Auburn; and brother Paul Thibodeau of Lewiston; ex-wife, Deborah Cote of Lewiston; along with many other siblings, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses for their hard work and dedication through this pandemic; trying anything and everything they could to save William. We also would like to thank Heather Johnson for being a life long friend of his until the end. We would also like to give a big thanks to the class of  ’79 for helping us with money donations in his memory. We will always be so grateful there’s a few other private donations that haven’t gone unnoticed as well. Thank you all! Any sympathy cards can be sent by mail to:

    Willie, you never stopped amazing me with your achievements, friendship and positive outlook on life. I have appreciated you visiting my Mom at her Art shows over the years. You were always so kind and a huge hearted person. I pray you are happy and peaceful in heaven watching down over your family and us all. Class of 79, will truly miss you, as your presence meant a lot. Rest in Peace Classmate. Love Peggy
