Thomas Raymond Dudley Boyd, age 70, of Grand Rapids, MI passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2020. He was born May 11, 1950, in Evansville, Indiana to the late Thomas Raymond Dudley and Lillian Deloris (Wilhite) Boyd. Tom proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. On June 29, 1991, Tom married Geraldine “Geri” Dahlke, in Grand Rapids. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and extended family.
Suvivors include his wife of 29 years, Geri; 2 sons, TJ (Jamie) Boyd and Ryan Lambert; 2 grandchildren, Zach and Kaylee Nugent; 2 brothers, Roland (Janet) Boyd and Bruce (Sharon) Boyd; sister, Angie (Bobby Dillon) Ellis; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; and Lula Bell Dillon who was like a second mother to Tom.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jerri.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held Thursday, September 17, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Graceland Memorial Park, 4341 Cascade Rd SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546, with military honors being rendered by Kent County Honor Guard and the U.S. Marine Corps.
