Terry Allan Phelps, age 52, of Battle Creek, Michigan, formerly of Neosho, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9th, 2020.  He was born in Howell, Michigan on June 30, 1968 to John Russell Phelps and Margo Rae Phelps (Millar).

Terry was a 1986 graduate of Mooresville High School in Mooresville, Indiana.  Terry proudly served his country in the United States Army during Desert Storm.  Terry served in the infantry and later in his military career he earned his beloved Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician diploma.  After the military he traveled the world working as an Explosive Ordnance technician.

Terry loved to travel and to read and study about all things military.  He also had a love for animals, a trait he inherited from his mother.  Terry could never resist an animal in need.  He rescued many a stray dog or cat.

Terry married Cynthia Marie Hughes on August 6, 2006 and she survives.  Other survivors include his son, John Robert Phelps and John’s mother, Rhonda Martinez both of Missouri; aunt, Gail Miller of Michigan; uncle, Clark (Lin) Millar of Michigan; aunt, LaVonne (Rick) Tracy of Missouri; aunt, Rhonda (Gerry) Hartzell of Missouri; aunt, Lisa (Ron) Stokes of Missouri; uncles, Duane Frizzell and Tracy Frizzell both of Missouri; and many cousins, extended family,and friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Melbourne and Ellen Millar, Juanita Frizzell, and John R. Phelps.

Per his wishes Terry will be cremated and buried at Hornet Cemetery in Newton County, Missouri, near his family.
