Roger Kenneth Wright, age 62, of Mecosta, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, November 3, 2022.  The son of Harold & Mary (Battle) Wright, he was born on January 13, 1960 in Big Rapids and was a 1980 graduate of Chippewa Hills High School.

He spent most of his life working hard, utilizing his talents for fixing things, most recently at Lakeside Motor Sports in Mecosta. He was well known for his waterskiing skills  —  proudly teaching numerous members of the family how to ski. He lived his life to the fullest through simple pleasures…  spending any spare time he had hunting, fishing and being on the boat.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John & Lena Battle, and Guy & Gladice Wright; his parents, Mary & Harold Wright; and a brother, Brian Wright.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Selena Metcalf-Wright; three brothers, Ron Wright, Gary Wright, and Terry Wright; two sisters, Sharon & Clifford Metcalf, and Diana Herring; and by his nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

The family will greet relatives and friends beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Mecosta “The Village” Free Methodist Church, 101 E. Main Street, Mecosta, where memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.  A luncheon will follow at the VFW Post No. 2335, 1050 W. Main Street, Mecosta.  Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the church.
