Robert Goudzwaard, age 92, of Grand Rapids, went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2023.

 

He was born in Grand Rapids in 1930, the only child of Kryn and Cecil Goudzwaard.

 

Bob started playing piano and organ at a very young age, and was a Church organist at Burton Baptist Church, and an events pianist including with the Old Kent Bank Choir.

 

He worked at Old Kent Bank for over 50 years, taking on many roles over the years.

 

Bob made many friends, and traveled many miles on his long-life journey.  He volunteered and was on the board of the Civic Theater, Circle in the Park and Festival of Arts, achieving many awards and recognitions.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Lillian Goudzwaard.

 

Survivors include his daughters, Robin Goudzwaard, and Sherry Rowland; granddaughter, Libby Zeeb, great-grandsons, Jameson and Darcy Zeeb; also, his very special friends, Lou Vander Have and David Troy Johnson, as well as many other friends young and old.

 

A Celebration of Life dinner will be held at a later date.

 

Memorial contributions can be made to Bob’s daughters to cover medical and funeral expenses.

    Robin, My dear friend iam sad that I can not take your pain and anguish away.But I can be there for you ,and pray for Gods comfort and his Grace and Mercy.And we know we will see him again one day.I was Blessed to have known your Father.
