Nancy Louise Flood passed on February 5, 2023 surrounded by family.

Nancy was born in Sault Ste. Marie, MI on May 6, 1943 to William Anderson and Marguerite McMullin and was the middle of three children. She grew up in the Soo and Grand Rapids, she graduated from South High School in Grand Rapids. After graduating Nancy attended Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City. She earned her LPN and went to work right away at Blodgett Hospital. Nancy continued to work as a nurse at the local hospitals, schools, assisted living facilities and the Maricopa County Jail.

In retirement Nancy stayed busy making home made crafts, purses, quillos and towels sold at local farmer markets and craft fairs. Nancy has called many places home Sault Ste Marie MI, Grand Rapids MI, Port Huron MI, Casa Grande AZ, Mesa AZ, Lakeside AZ and in 2007 decided to come home to Jenison MI. Nancy enjoyed camping, sewing and vacationing with her family. She would never turn down an adventure. She went snowshoeing in the Rocky Mountains. Toured castles in Portugal and Ziplining at John Ball Park Zoo. Nancy’s favorite past times included playing the piano, spending time with her dogs and sewing.

Falling in love for the first time, Nancy married Richard Ching in June of 1967. They had three great children together. Rich and Nancy divorced in 1984. In 1991 Nancy married Ronald Flood. Nancy enjoyed Ron’s six adult children as her own.

Nancy is survived by her sister Lois (Marcus) Rooze of Grandville and sister-in-law Dorothy Anderson- Grow of Traverse City. Her children Brian (Chris) Ching of Phoenix, AZ, Duane (April) Ching of Wyoming, MI. Kristen (Steve) Simon of Westminster, CO. Nancy was Grandma to Bradley (Victoria) Ching, Richard Ching, Allison Ching, James (Gabriella)Ching, Amber Ching, Jackie Ching, Gabriel Simon, Jonathan Ching and Bailey Simon. Nancy was also blessed and thrilled to be a Great Grandmother to (Brandley and Victoria) Kenadee, Kadance, Wesley, Waylon Ching and (James and Gabriella) Sailor Ching. Preceded in death by her parents, brother Wayne Anderson, and her beloved husband, Ron Flood.

A memorial Service will be held at Grace Bible Church, 3715 Wilson Ave SW, Grandville, on February 11, 2023 at 1:00pm. Visitation from noon to 1:00.

A Celebration of Life will be planned around Labor Day. Nancy had walked the bridge over 20 times starting in 1963. We are planning on walking the Mackinac Bridge on Labor Day in her memory. September 4, 2023.
