Michael John Nastaj, age 67, of Grand Rapids, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 14, 2022. He was born April 11, 1954, in Grand Rapids, to the late Anthony and Mary (Bobko) Nastaj. Mike graduated from West Catholic High School. Mike married the love of his life, Diane VandenBosch on February 14, 1976. Together they had three children and celebrated 32 years of marriage before Diane passed away on July 5, 2008.

Mike was proud to have been able to coach all of his children through the Grandville Little League program and found it especially rewarding and fulfilling to coach his daughter, Ashley in the special needs, Challenger Division. He enjoyed working in maintenance at Country Fresh Dairy for many years until his retirement.

Survivors include his children, Ryan, Aaron, and Ashley Nastaj; grandchildren, Jennica and Kegan Nastaj; sister, Nancy VanBeloise; brother-in-law, Randy Kolhouse; many nieces and nephews; beloved dogs, Patches, Liberty, and Millie Mae; great friend from Country Fresh, Mark (Julie) Eargood; and lifelong friends, Bob (Julie) Wesholski and Kirk (Denise) Bajdek, whom Mike loved dearly and enjoyed sharing Mary Jane with.

Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Diane; his parents; three siblings, Phyllis Kolhouse, Dan (Lori) Nastaj, and Jeannie Nastaj; and life-long friend, Rob Michalski Jr.

Per his wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial mass is being planned at St. Pius X Catholic Church and details will be announced as soon as they become available.

In lieu flowers memorials can be directed to St. Pius X Catholic Church in memory of Mike.
