Mary Ann McElmurry passed away on May 9th 2022 at the age of 91, in Holland, MI.  Mary Ann was born on January 31, 1931 to John and Barbara Bedrick, (immigrants from Budapest, Hungary) in Bedford, Ohio. Mary Ann is survived by her children, Mary Lou Klush of Zeeland, John Prosen (Cathy) of Ohio, Dan Prosen (Cheryl) of Ohio, and Cindy Mulder (Keith) of Holland.  Mary Ann is a cherished grandma to 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a dear Aunt to many nieces and nephews in the Cleveland area.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert McElmurry; her grandson, Colin Mulder; and 8 brothers and sisters.  Mary Ann was the youngest of her siblings.

Mary Ann’s greatest joy in life was her family. She adored cooking and having everyone around, serving her favorite Hungarian recipes.  She won baking contests and had her recipes featured in a local paper.  She loved to play all types of card games…for money!  She was a card shark, and always won!  Mary Ann also enjoyed a good slot machine!  She was lucky!  Dancing was also a love of hers.  She might start dancing wherever she may be, when hearing some good upbeat music.  Mary Ann always cherished working in her yard and planting loads of flowers. Through all her health issues, she always found a reason to laugh with her great sense of humor.  She always said that laughter kept her going, and it truly did!

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service is scheduled at Central Wesleyan in Holland, where she attended with Robert.  Honoring Mary Ann, a celebration is in store with good food, family, a deck of cards and some happy music.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. For Mary Ann, life has not ended but merely changed.  Until we meet again.
