Lyle Clarence Strouse, 87 of Gowen, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022, in Greenville at Spectrum Health Hospital surrounded by his wife Janice, his children and grandchildren. He was born May 10, 1935 in Carrington, North Dakota, the son of Ernest Clarence and Minnie Elizabeth “Mary” (Walters) Strouse. He married the love of his life Janice Allen on February 26, 1993 and enjoyed 29 years of marriage. Lyle was in the United States Air Force from May 7, 1954 thru December 13, 1957 as Airman First Class, a member of the Greenville American Legion post 101 and the Moose Lodge of Greenville. He retired from Electrolux Home Products with 34 years of service. He enjoyed hunting turkey with Phil, deer hunting, fishing with his sons and friends. He also enjoyed camping, working on his yard and most of all spending time with family, friends, and his special dog Chloe.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Donald “Sonny“ Strouse, sisters Melisse Anderson, Dolly Beck, step-daughter Sherry Allen and the mother of his children Beverly Ann (Whitford) Strouse.
He is survived by his wife, Janice, dog, Chloe, his six children, Candy (Brian) Smith of Greenville, Randy (Cindy) Strouse of Belding, Sandy (Rob) Harris of Trufant, Ken (Andi) Strouse of Arkansas, Karie (Steve) Thomas of Sheridan, Kurt (Barbie) Strouse of Gowen, step-daughter, Tammy (Mark) Gorby of Trufant, grandchildren, Jacob (Beth) D’Antuono of Trufant, Kara (Alberto) Renteria of Belding, Derek (Lea) Strouse of Belding, Judy (Jose) Renteria of Belding, Shelly (Jim) Douglas of Belding, Rodney (Jing) Telfer of Texas, Daryn (Tana) Strouse of Trufant, Trisha Tanner of Trufant, Beverly Strouse of Arkansas, Kendra (James) Hood of Arkansas, Brie Strouse of Arkansas, Kallie Hilliker of Texas, Summer (William) Blair of Sheridan, Haven Flynn of Sheridan, James Mealler of Arkansas, Amanda Holt of Pennsylvania, Greg (Michelle) Gotwalt of Cedar Springs, Jason (Stella) Gotwalt of Belding, Nicole (Christopher) Rausch of Greenville, Natosha (Drake) Meaux of Sheridan, Chris (Cheyenanna) Gorby of Stanton, Kevin (Myranda) Gorby of Sand Lake, great grandson, Waylon, great-granddaughter, Harper, 55 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great Grandchildren, his siblings, Dewayne (June) Strouse of Lowell, Delaine Lowry of Greenville, Gary Strouse of Greenville, Barb Creighton of Greenville, Chuck (Penny) Creighton of Greenville, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside Burial Service will be at Riverside Cemetery, Langston, Michigan, on Friday July 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM.
