Lester Jesse Rasnake, 59, of Martin, Michigan left this world to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, in Martin, Michigan. He was born April 11, 1963, to the late Jessie Rasnake and Bobbie Jean (Ruby) Moss in Plainwell, Michigan.

Lester is survived by his mother, his children, April Lynne (and her husband Ryan) Eldridge  of Grand Junction, Jakob Howard Rasnake of Plainwell, Jessica Leigh Rasnake of Kalamazoo, Grandchildren; John and Allen Eldridge and Juan Portillo, his siblings Corbett Rasnake of Grand Rapids, Larry (and his wife Chris) Rasnake of Wayland, Margaret (and her husband Jim) Stoken of Allegan, Olais Jay (and his wife Christie) Moss.  He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Dexter.  He is survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.

Lester grew up in Shelbyville, Michigan in a time when playing outside and friends were the most important thing in life!  Lester grew up with a strong sense of independence, there was nothing he couldn’t do when he put his mind to it. He loved his family with his whole heart!  His mother was the center of that love.  His favorite things to do were to hunt, fish and kayak.  He loved to play Cribbage and other card games, but certainly considered himself a master Cribbage player.  Lester loved time with family and friends.

Lester was a jack of all trades and did not consider himself a master of any.  He worked in construction, Emergency Medical Response, manufacturing, public school medical technician, and many other trades.  He worked to live, he didn’t live to work.

He loved all things nature. Loved his family fiercely and never met a stranger, he had a bright smile and charisma that was hard not to be drawn to. Lester loved time with family and friends, and he also loved his time alone.

Lester was preceded in death by his daughter Victoria Marie Rasnake, his father, his step-father Wilburn Lee Moss and his step-mother Viola Mae Rasnake.

Family and friends are welcome to join in celebrating the life and the love of Lester at 1:00 pm on Sunday, November 27, 2022. We will meet at the Messer Church House at 223 124 th Ave., Shelbyville, MI. 49344. Lunch will be served.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Allegan County Animal Shelter would be appreciated.
