John J. Slagel, age 80, of Wyoming, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020.

 

He was born on January 29, 1940, in Hastings, to Edward & Lona (Sherma) Slagel.

 

John proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was assigned aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt.

 

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, July 16, 2020, at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery, 2894 Patterson Avenue SE, Grand Rapids, with Pastor Alan Pontarelli officiating.  Military Honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy.

 

Anyone that can not be proper or respectful during the service is asked to stat home, per family wishes.
