Joe Keith Copeland Sr., age 56, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 9, 2021.  We lost a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was born January 20, 1964, in Hampton, Virginia, to the late Robert Copeland and Marilyn Hover.

Joe touched the lives of everyone that knew him; he had a servant’s heart and lived to care for others. Joe was a dedicated employee at MEC for 34 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, online gaming, watching football, attending Michigan State games, and late night trips to Meijer. Above all, Joe cherished his family and had a passion for spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ, his Savior. He was a loving husband, supportive dad, and the absolute best grandpa.

He will be missed by his wife, Diana Copeland; children, Melissa (Josh) Boggs, Joe (Jamie) Copeland Jr., Ashley Eyk, and Jennifer (Matthew) Barczak; grandchildren, Cierra, Auston and Braylie Boggs, Abel and Jolie Copeland, Brennen Ayers, Coralyn Eyk, and Hazel and Isaac Barczak; siblings,  Robert (Joanna) Copeland, Jackie Copeland, and Marilyn Hover; and many nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Hover; dad, Robert Copeland; and brother, Randy Hover.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Corinth Reformed Church, 129 100th Street S.E., Byron Center, MI 49315, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Jason Nagel officiating.  Due to COVID 19 masks are required. Entombment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

We can’t wait to see you in Heaven and hear you say “I’m glad you got to see me again”.

Diane, so sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and your family during this trying time. I remember the day we went to see the Rock Show at the casino and we were looking for seats. You said, are you looking for seats? You were so gracious and said we have a couple, join us. From there it turned into a friendship. We have a lot of great memories with you and Joe. Thank you for your kindness. That is just who you and Joe were together. Love you! Will miss Joe. Xoxoxo Jeff & Julie.
