James Warren Nelson, age 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.
Born in 1947, Jim grew up in Holland, MI and attended West Ottawa High School before enlisting in the U. S. Marine Corps to serve in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged with numerous awards at the rank of Corporal.

Jim was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman, who loved spending time with his family and friends. He was also a proud small business owner of Great Lakes Albums. He will always be remembered for his humor, loyalty, and unwavering patriotism. He touched the lives of many and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Jim is survived by his children, Missi Bastiaanse (Jerry Cavazos), Jennifer Zeerip (Brett Zeerip), and Chase W. Nelson (Ming-Hsueh Lin); his siblings, Lynn Elkins (Jim Elkins) and Rick Nelson (Nadene Nelson); his grandchild, Elliott Bastiaanse; innumerable friends; and ‘Cat’.

A visitation will be held in his honor at Central Wesleyan Church (Legacy Room) this Saturday, April 1, 2:00–4:00pm.
