George Molesworth age 87 of Evart, Mi passed away peacefully on August 2, 2020 with family by his side. He was Very loved and will be missed greatly! He put up a brave fight for several years after being diagnosed with Dementia. He was born in Detroit, MI to the late George and Irene (Reilly) Molesworth.
George proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Sharron Louise Herrick on August 4, 1956 in Port Huron, MI. They had many wonderful years together until Sharron passed in 2008. They had two children, George and LeAnne. They started their own Real Estate Company called “NorthWest Realty” in Baldwin, MI.
George loved to hunt and feed his deer, building and fixing things. He was always busy fixing something! George will be remembered by his family as a Strong and tough Man! He loved his family and you always knew he had your back! Some of the family’s fondest memories are rodeos and our horses, camping trips, hunting with him, fishing, working on his tractor, week stays as kids, his pet raccoon, his grandson, Chris feeding his dog pennies which didn’t make him happy, and all of his great, long stories of his life on the farm, being in the Army, and meeting the Love of his life, our wonderful mom and grandma! Most of all we will remember him teaching us to be honorable, honest, and hard working people just like he was!
George is survived by his daughter, LeAnne Hawkins; 5 grandsons: Nicholas (Amanda) Slater and their daughters, Serenity and Makaya; Christopher (Kaleah) Slater and their son, Lakyne; Brady Slater and his daughter, Harper; Cody (Katrina) Slater and their daughter, Lilliana and twins girls that are due soon; Craig (Mellisa) Molesworth and their children, Keegan and Hunter; granddaughter, Jennifer Molesworth; and sister, Patricia Parr.

I was Big G’s (As I called him) hospice volunteer from NOCH. I only was able to visit with Big G and talk about projects he did and about how some of the specific nurses at the Hospice House were plotting to date certain doctors. Big G was also a great reader of people. Covid showed up and I was cut off from seeing my Big G!
My Dad went through the same situation Big G experienced. It is not easy on the person nor on the family so remember the great times you all had with da man!!
He is at peace and I imagine in some woods, watching the deer, and trying to decide – “now is that one stealing too much food?…hmmmm”
Cheers and let the memories live on
