George E. Hunt, 87, of Carson City, Michigan, moved from his home on earth to eternity on  Friday October 29, 2021 surrounded by his family.

He was born on February 5, 1934 in Edmore, Michigan, the son of the late George and Otha (Johnson) Hunt, and was a dear brother to five siblings.

George was a faithful employee of the State of Michigan Department of Corrections, retiring after 27 years of service.  He enjoyed serving his community by distributing food commodities and working as a volunteer on the Carson City Frontier Days committee.  He loved supporting the local football team and attended most games.

Surviving are his sister, Ruth Ann Lippert-Hopkins;  his children, Ed & Lilia Hunt, Bozena & Bruce Young, Bill & Edie Hunt, Maggie & Jeff McVannel, Bob & Ellie Hunt;  a daughter-in-law, Michelle Price; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Private family graveside services will be held at Bloomer Township Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the community food bank.

    I was George’s cleaning lady from Montcalm County Aging. He was such a wonderful person. Sorry for your loss.

    Sorry for you loss. Myself and many employees at Country Friends Assisted Living had the pleasure of taking care of George. He was so funny and loving and talked about family a lot. He will be dearly missed by all of us.
    We will definitely miss his singing, making sure he didn’t miss Football and his love for Fish and pickled pigs feet.
