Edwin Roger Comeau (“Grandpar”) age 90 of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away peacefully on January 20, 2023, while surrounded by his family.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  Edwin was born on September 16, 1932, in Ashmore, Digby Co, Nova Scotia, Canada.  On April 28, 1956, he married the love of his life, JoAnn.  They raised their family in Westland, Michigan with a summer home in Gladwin, Michigan.  Eventually, they moved to Gladwin as their permanent residence and lived there for 28 years.  They then moved to Grand Rapids Michigan in 2017.

Edwin proudly served in the U.S. Army from November 3, 1952, until August 31, 1954, as Corporal and received the Expert Rifle, Good Conduct and National Defense ribbons.  Six days out of the service, he lost his leg in a motorcycle accident.
Edwin made his living as a product test engineer at Ford Motor Company.  He was a passionate craftsman working with wood and metal creating furniture and fixtures.
He loved to build and fix things, snowmobile, watch baseball and football and play golf.  He and JoAnn loved to travel in their fifth-wheel travel trailer and winter in Florida.  Anyone who knew him knew that he was the most loving husband and father a family could ask for.
Edwin was predeceased by his parents, Donald Augustine and Evelyn Margaret (Nelson) Comeau, sister, Geraldine Edna Johnson, and brothers, Donald Augustine Comeau, Jr. and Herbert Albert Comeau.  He is survived by his beloved wife JoAnn Helen (Kecskes), daughter Kimberly Marie Napieralski, son-in-law William, his son, David Oliver Comeau, daughter-in-law Theresa, grandchildren, Jessa Marie Lytle, Edwin David Napieralski, David Oliver Comeau, Zachary Augustine Comeau, Nicholas Isaac Comeau and Katelyn Therese Comeau and great grandchildren, Vincent Carter and Xander Ford Napieralski and Sadie Elizabeth Comeau.
