Dennis Craig Blakeman, age 71, of Coldwater, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, C. Everett and Dell A. Blakeman. He is survived by three daughters, Denise (Robert) Barkley of Lake City, MI, Rebecca (Kevin) Lynch of Manton, MI, and Katherine Blakeman of Mancelona, MI; one brother, Douglas (Linda) Blakeman of Leo, IN; one sister, Linda Kirkpatrick of New Bern, NC; one step-sister, Jackie (Jim) Henson of Hillsdale, MI; two step-brothers, Richard (Jane) Aube and Robert (Kay) Aube, both of Hillsdale, MI; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.


Dennis proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.  He earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with One Bronze Star.


Burial with military honors will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, MI 49012.

    Dear Doug and Linda,

    Please accept my sincere sympathy in the great loss of Dennis. It is wonderful to read how he served his country so proudly and honorably to received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with One Bronze Star. Please know I am praying for you and the family.

    Numbers 6:24-26 – The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.

    I just learned of Dennys passing . I so sorry . I served with Denny in B battery field artillery Michigan Army National Guard out of Albion Michigan . He was a member of my howitzer section I enjoyed serving with him . He was a capable , dependable soldier . Many good times and memories were had and made .
