Dennis Allen Redder, age 78, of Belding, formerly of Manistee, Allendale, Hudsonville, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital after a brief battle with Leukemia.  The son of Henrietta (Teune) & Harvey Redder, Sr., he was born on October 1, 1942 in Jamestown Township and was a 1960 graduate of Hudsonville High School.

On October 18, 1965, in Hudsonville, he married his best friend, Mary Ann Feikema, and together they enjoyed nearly 50 years together and raised two children.  Dennis had served in the Michigan National Guard and retired as service manager from Midwest Vibro in Grandville in 2005. He was an avid sports fan especially the Spartans and the Detroit Tigers. After retirement he enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family. When he moved to Belding in 2015, he and his buddy Stan were given the official titles of Head of Security and Parking at The Barn at Adams Acres. Their spotless work record was only marred by their tendency to visit the dessert table before the bride and groom had cut the cake.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Redder on July 31, 2015;  his parents;  a brother, Harvey Redder, Jr. Surviving are his children, Dana & Bob Adams of Belding, and Dirk Redder of Holland;  granddaughters, Shelby & Todd Dougherty, Paige & Tyler Hage, Taryn & Ryan Shields, Phaedra Adams, and Hannah Adams;  four great-grandsons, Braxton, Grayson, Brody, and Connor;   his sister and brothers, Sandy & Jim Ver Strate, Rev. Ronald & Frances  Redder, and Darl & Diane Redder;  siblings-in-law, Esther Feikema, Joan Feikema, and Clarence & Carolyn Feikema; his dear friend, Sally Marr of Belding;  and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, August 23, 2021 at The Barn at Adams Acres, 10655 Belding Road (M-44), Belding, with burial taking place privately on Tuesday at Floral View Memorial Gardens near Grandville.  Family and friends will celebrate Dennis’ life beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at The Barn at Adams Acres, where the Rev. Roger Tahtinen, pastor of Smyrna Bible Church, will officiate and a time of food and fellowship will follow the memorial service.

Instead of flowers, Dennis would have appreciated contributions in his memory to the B Foundation of Belding.  Envelopes will be available at The Barn at Adams Acres.  To send a message of sympathy to the family, sign Dennis’ online guest book, or to share a favorite memory, please visit:  www.MichiganCremation.com  Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Christiansen’s Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Greenville, (616) 754-5638.
