Daryel Ernest Lawton, age 58, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, September 29, 2022. He was born August 8, 1964, in Portland, Oregon, to the late Wendell and Lucille (Armbeck) Lawton. At age 18 he married the love of his life, Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Brumm on November 20, 1982, in Battle Creek. He was a baker for over 10 years at Sweetwaters Donuts.
Daryel loved being a volunteer music teacher for Battle Creek Public Elementary Schools, he was called Mr.Daryel. He loved serving his heavenly father at Dexter Lake Church. Daryel and Liz had a music ministry for over ten years called Heaven’s Angels, which gave love to others through music.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wendell Lawton in 1993; his mother, Lucille Davis in 2019; and his mother-in-law, Margret Brumm in 2020.
Survivors include his wife of almost 40 years, Liz; children, Eric Lawton (age 41) and Kathryn Lawton (age 17).
The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Glenn Arbor Hospice Facility and Centrica Care Navigators for the help and care they showed Daryel and them throughout this difficult time.
Per his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service is being planned and details will be announced as soon as they become available.

We miss you very much. We remember all the Heavens Little Angels Concerts and we knew how much you loved to give others a chance to enjoy the Lord’s presence through songs. You will be greatly missed. You were a great husband to your wife, great father to your kids, great uncle to your neices and nephews and a wonderful friend.
