Carolyn Ann Spiece, age 83, of Carson City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Carson City under the loving care of her daughters and Elara Caring Hospice. The daughter of Bernard & Marie Isabelle (Losey) LeBaron, she was born on November 23, 1936 in Alma.
On June 23, 1956 she married Gary Lee Spiece and together they raised two daughters and enjoyed 56 years of married until Gary passed away on July 24, 2012. Carolyn also worked outside the home as a teacher’s aide at Carson City – Crystal Area Schools and retired from Carson City Hospital as the switchboard operator. Many will remember her as the first voice they heard when calling the hospital.
Carolyn was a very generous and kind lady. She enjoyed time spent at the family cottage on Tamarack Lake in Lakeview, wintering in Florida, camping, riding horses, boating, fishing, snowmobiling, and trips to the casino.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two infant children, Karen Spiece and Eddie Spiece; and a sister, Jackie Swinson.
Surviving are two daughters, Kim Spiece of Carson City, and Torey & Gregg Smith of Fenwick; three granddaughters, Holly & Jereme Akin, Nicole & Kyle Cashen, and Stephany & Jeremie Anderson; eight great-grandchildren, Samantha Plank, Ryanna Plank, Brookelyn Brown, Cassidy Cashen, Carragh Cashen, Allie Cashen, Sophie Akin and Garner Akin.
The family invites relatives and friends to celebrate Carolyn’s life from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hall, 404 N. Division Street, Carson City. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and final interment will be in Carson City Cemetery.

Carolyn was the voice for years. She always had a smile and a funny story. What fun we had.
Prayers for the Family and I pray that your memories and GOD will see you through this vary hard time ahead. Just remember you are not alone GOD is always there along with friends and family. She will be missed by many. RIP
