Carol Jean Withers, age 62, of Belding, passed away after a brief illness on Thursday, June 8, 2023 aboard the Princess Sapphire while on an Alaskan Cruise with her family.  The daughter of John William & Darlene (Franklin) Mosley, she was born on August 5, 1960 in Jacksonville, Florida.

On June 25, 2005 in Greenville, she married James Leonard Withers, and together they enjoyed nearly 18 years of marriage.  Carol was employed at Federal-Mogul Corporation, enjoyed traveling  —  especially cruises and trips to Disney, and attended Jesus Non-Denominational Church in Greenville.

She was preceded by her father; her mother; her step-father, Cecil Ray Harkrader; and a step-sister, Victoria Wheeler.

Surviving are her husband, James L. “Boomer” Withers of Belding;  her son, Johnny & Tracy Harkrader of Kentucky; three step-children, Natasha & Darryl Glover of Florida, Chris & Armando Withers of Florida, and Marie & Brian King of Kansas;  a granddaughter, Maddi Harkrader;  a great-grandson, Paxton Harkrader;  eight step-grandchildren;  her brothers and sisters, Alfreda, Donald, and Karen, all of New York, Debbie & Craig Campbell of Stanton, Judy Burkett of Florida, John & Angie Mosley of Saranac,  David & Brenda Mosley of Greenville, and  Robert Mosley of Six Lakes; step-siblings, Walter Ray Harkrader of Orleans, David Roger Harkrader of Edmore, John Wheeler of Ionia, Medina White of Portland, and Shannon Harkrader-Crooks & Bill Crooks of Howard City;  and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family is from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Christiansen’s Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.  The Rev. Tommy D.     Heartbroken at the passing of my beautiful sister in law Carol. She was such a loving lady and so much fun to be around. Carol you will be missed.♥️😢

    Carol, you were one of a kind and the very best thing to happen to Boomer, let alone the Withers Clan. You will be missed beyond words, but I know you are where you want to be and we will see you again. We will help out with things down here until we see you again.
