Barbara Renee Leatherman-Diaz passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 6th, 2023 at 4:20am. She passed at her home in Hastings, Michigan from a long battle with illness.

Barbara was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on December 21st, 1981. She lived in North Carolina which were the best years of her life. She traveled many places, but wanted to be back

to her roots in Michigan, with family. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  One of her best qualities was to make people laugh, she also loved to make things or give gifts

to others. She was known for giving the best gifts because she would put so much thought into them, her family would call her gifts the Barbarito. Barbara enjoyed working on all art forms,

walking with her three dogs, Moby, Thor and Toro. She also loved gardening, hiking and camping. When she wasn’t doing that you could find her riding her motorcycle with her Husband, Mauricio, swimming and going to the Leatherman cabin up north in Gaylord, Michigan. It was her favorite place to be.

Barbara leaves behind her Husband, Mauricio A Diaz; her Dad, Thomas M. Leatherman; her Mother, Joanne L. Leatherman; her oldest brother Christopher (Lisa) Leatherman; brother,

Patrick R. Leatherman; older sister, Amy (Karl) Raab; younger sister and best friend, Elise (Mac) Averitt. Six nephews, David, Alex, Andrew, Karlson, Matthew and Oliver; niece, Adalyn;

many aunts, uncles and cousins. The love of her life, Toro, her American Akita. Also her two dearest friends; Shane Slack and Bailey Jones.

Waiting for her at the pearly gates are her Grandma, Margaret Leatherman; Grandpa, Merrill Leatherman; Grandma, Barbara Wells; and Grandpa Howard Wells. As well as her two

wonderful dogs, Moby and Thor.

Barbara’s wishes are for everyone to stay strong and exude love onto others from Jesus Christ, her Savior.

“I will miss you, but will see you soon. God Bless Everyone.” -B.R Leatherman-Diaz

    My oldest sister married Renee’s oldest brother. The few times we had met over the years during family gatherings, her bright smile is what I remember the most. It could light up a room. Our prayers are with Renee’s family. May God’s peace and love comfort you all in this time of loss. ❤🌹🙏
