• Honoring Winona’s wishes, burial has taken place and no services will be held.

Mrs. Winona Jean Jones, age 72, formerly of Manistee and Greenville, passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 15, 2007 at Clark Retirement Community, Grand Rapids. The daughter of Nellie (VanderMel) & Arnold Krampe, Sr., she was born on June 20, 1935 in Amble. On April 22, 1956, in Angola, Indiana, she married Carl S. Jones. After they were married, they made their home in Greenville and she worked at Federal Mogul Corp. Carls job with the Michigan Consolidated Gas Co. then took the family to Manistee and Winona worked at J.C. Penney, retiring by age 50. A devoted wife and mother, she also enjoyed fishing with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl S. Jones on Feb. 15, 1996; four brothers, Arnold Jr., Edward, Ferdinand, and Ronald Krampe; and a sister, Vivian Harger.

Surviving are two daughters, Tamara Jones and Deb of Grand Rapids, and Debra Gutowski of Manistee; a son, Stephen & JoAnne Jones of Grand Haven; two grandchildren, Jason Gutowski and Joy Gutowski; a great grandson, Bryce Burchard; a sister, Eleanor Krampe of Grand Rapids; two brothers, Leonard & Mary Lou Krampe of Rockford, and Bernard & Patricia Krampe of Grand Rapids; a brother-in-law, Larry & Fonda Jones of Greenville; her special friends, Jean Waligorski of Manistee and Janet Ricord of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Honoring Winonas wishes, burial took place privately on Tuesday morning, Sept. 18, 2007 at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding, and no services will be held. Instead of flowers, memorial contributions to the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated.
