I worked with Walt and Winnie in the mid 1970’s. I continue to admire the dignity and courage they both displayed when their son, Wade, was/is missing in action. I shall always look to them with great admiration. RIP, Winnie.

I wish to offer my many loving condolences to the family. I met Winifred (or Grandma G as I knew her) as a teen and was instantly enamored with her spirit, strength, spunk and the graceful way that she approached life. She was funny, kind, honest and blunt, and I always took her words seriously and enjoyed her stories immensely. I think of her often though I hadn’t seen her in years. She left an impression as a role model that I’ll always carry.
