William Soper Gierhart, age 73, of Rockford, passed away Friday evening, October 20, 2017 at home under the loving care of his wife and Spectrum Health Hospice. The son of Harry & Mary Eleanor (Soper) Gierhart, he was born on February 11, 1944 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
On October 21, 1967 he married Andrea Lee Evakich and together they raised one son and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 21st. Bill worked as a sales manager for SPS (Southern Prosthetic Supply).
Surviving are his wife, Andrea Gierhart of Rockford; their son, Billy & Cherie Gierhart of Santa Clarita, California; a grandson, Will Gierhart of Ada; a sister, Betty & Park Lenhart of Hermitage, Pennsylvania; and a brother, Harry "Chip" & Sue Gierhart of Santa Barbara, California.

So sorry to learn of BillyGÇÖs death. I have so many fond memories of growing up in the 1940s and 50s and visiting with my cousins, Betty, Billy and Chip.
So sorry to hear from Betty of Bill’s passing. Andrea, Mary and I remember fondly
our dinner together in Asheville when Bill so generously “gave the old girl back”!
