Dr. William M. Steigerwald, 79, of Maple Rapids, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017. The son of Francis & Kathleen (Galvin) Steigerwald, he was born on Jan. 22, 1938 in Detroit. Surviving are his children, Suzy Steigerwald, Sara & Russell Schoenbeck, and Jonathan & Anne Steigerwald; two grandaughters, Katie and Sophie; a sister, Kathy & Ed Pikarski; and a brother Michael & Mary Steigerwald. William was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jane; his wife, Caroline; and two brothers, Robert & John Steigerwald.

He was my doctor since I was a baby. Very nice man. He will be missed. Sorry for your loss.

They were very special people and I was so blessed to have met them.

This dear, dear man has been both my Doctor and my friend for over 45 years. He birthed my Grand Children, Dr. Meaghan Beasley, MacKenzie Gross Kammerer and Cole Gross. He has literally saved my life more than once and I considered him to be the best diagnostician I’ve ever known. His death has broken my heart as well the hearts of all my children. He will be fondly thought of as a part of my family and will be sadly missed by us all. His wings are beautiful…
