Mr. William H. Godfrey, Jr., age 73, of Greenville, passed away Sunday evening, Feb. 3, 2008 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital. The son of Dortha (Koopman) & William Henry Godfrey, Sr., he was born on July 14, 1934 in Grand Rapids. For many years Bill worked as a television repair technician, first for himself and then later for Reid Television. On Nov. 15, 1973, in Grand Rapids, he married Nadine Grace McCall.

A devoted husband and father, Bill found his greatest joy in spending time with his family especially in family trips to Tiger Stadium and fishing with his grandchildren. He had been a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader at St. Isidore Parish in Grand Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Allene Lukaart; and a daughter, Melissa Ann Godfrey on July 30, 2003. Surviving are his wife, Nadine Godfrey; their children, Ed (Rhonda) Maneke, Monica (Chuck) Prill, Bill (Cindy) Godfrey, Melissa (Mike) Golden, Yvonne (Pat) Lake, and Steven (Veronica) Godfrey; 22 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a sister and two brothers-in-law, AnnaBelle (Gerald) Czachorski, and Marvin Lukaart; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008 from the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 511 S.
