Valeria Sophie Simones, age 77, of Greenville, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015 at her home under the loving care of her family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The daughter of Joseph & Angeline (Robak) Frencel, she was born on February 17, 1937 in East Chicago, Indiana.
She attended Roosevelt High School in East Chicago and on April 14, 1956, in Crown Point, Indiana, she married Myron Eugene Simones. Together they raised five children and enjoyed fourty-four years of marriage, until he passed away on September 25, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Anthony Pariso in 1983; a great granddaughter, Ayleah Thompson in 1995; and by a son, Joseph Eugene Simones in 2008.
Valeria was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who delighted in feeding others and enjoyed spending time with family and friends over a good cup of coffee and maybe a cigarette or two as well.
Surviving are her children, Rebecca & Frank Pariso of Hebron, Indiana, Brian & Penny Simones of Greenville, Daniel Simones of Gowen, and Ronald Simones of Greenville; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren (with two more on the way); two great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Julianne & Robert Tumolo of Palmyra, Virginia, Josephine Clark of Hartford, Wisconsin, and Dorothy Frencel of Portage, Indiana; siblings-in-law, Carol Schwamberger of Colorado, Donald & Ann Simones, and Jerry & Rosemary Simones, all of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
Honoring her wishes, private family services will be held and burial will take place at Forest Home Cemetery in the spring. For a more lasting tribute to Valeria, instead of flowers, the family suggests donations to your local food pantry (and Valeria would have appreciated you including a can of coffee in your donation).

Busha was like a second grandma to me. I grew up with her grand daughter Angie and spent almost everyday at Busha’s when I was a kid. She was a loving woman and was very nice to say the least. It’s truly sad that she’s gone but may she rest in peace and never be forgotten.
