Theodore E. "Ted" Ecker, Sr., age 55, of Howard City, passed away Wednesday evening, March 25, 2015 at Metro Health Hospital in Wyoming.  The son of Theodore Allen & AnnaBelle (Wiltse) Ecker, he was born on December 30, 1959 near Alaska, Michigan and had worked as a technician for Smitter Pest Control in Grand Rapids.

On February 16, 1977, in Grand Rapids, he married Teresa Lynn Hurst and together they enjoyed 38 years of marriage and raised four children.  Ted enjoyed watching wrestling, pizza, and playing bingo at the VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents;  and a sister, Debbie Schultz.  Surviving are his wife, Teresa L. Ecker of Howard City;  their children, Sarah & Carl Ball, Theodore E. Jr. & Amy Ecker, all of Newaygo, Mathew & Ashley Ecker of Trufant, and Justin Ecker of Howard City;  two sisters, Diane & Tom Lawless of Virginia, and Bobbi & John Seaver of Luther;  a brother, Mark Ecker of the Upper Peninsula;  two sisters-in-law, Debbie & Robert Smith of Howard City, and Donna & Bruce McCamy, all of Howard City;  a brother-in-law, Tim & Terri Hurst of Newaygo;  eleven beautiful grandchildren;  and several nieces and nephews.

Honoring Ted's wishes, cremation has taken place and a no services are planned at this time.  Instead of flowers, contributions to the family would be appreciated.
