Theodore Leonard “Ted” Osborn III, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 16th, 2011.

Ted was born October 27th, 1939, the eldest son of the late Mary and Theodore Osborn Jr., and older brother to the late John Osborn.

He is survived by his two nephews, Ian and Joshua Osborn, and the many friends and extended family members who loved him dearly.

Ted held many titles throughout his life: son, brother, uncle, friend, musician, writer, pilot, sharpshooter, loch tender, mechanic, broadcaster. He was chief announcer for WVBR Ithaca in the late 50’s and early 60’s, and had recently made a return to the radio as the voice of a select few commercial spots on the station. He was a licensed pilot and champion air gun shooter. He was a musician with a deep appreciation for folk music. Ted will be missed greatly by everyone whose lives he touched and influenced.

Graveside committal services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Forest Home Cemetery, Greenville. The Rev. Jerry Jones, pastor of the First Congregational Church, will officiate.

    Sorry to learn of Ted’s passing. I lived across the street from his grandparents in Greenville. We used to spend time together in the summer when the family came up to their summer cottage on Baldwin lake. My condolences to the family.
