Thelma Jean Straub (Fletcher), aged 87, of Shelbyville, passed away peacefully at her home on March 18, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 28, 1924 to Phylo and Ila Fletcher. Thelma lived each day loving and caring for her entire family. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Thelma was preceded by Eugene, her husband of 64 years; her son, Todd; siblings, Lucille, Nancy, Eleanor, Ray, Maxine, Jack and Irvin; great-nephew, Eric Schuitema, and great-niece, Terra Wagner. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her children, Bev and Ed Hornstra, Bob and Deb Straub, Carol and Bill Seidletz, Tom and Jamie Straub, Ron Straub, Debra and Dan Lynch, Tammy and Scott Bartholomew, and Pam Stevens; grandchildren, Jerry, Kevin and Robin, Jodi and Bruce, Stacey and Scott, Ed, Bobbie, Troy and Sam, Brian and Melissa, Amber and Matt, Ron and Tracy, Trevor and Melissa, Danielle, Jake, Julie and Dave, Lacey and Jason, Kyle, Marty, Torey and Karyn, Ryan and Michelle; 38 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sister, Virginia; special friends, Sharon Rochfort, Sandy Burky, and many more. The Straub Family would like to express a sincere thanks to Wings of Hope Hospice for their compassion during this difficult time. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, March 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. It will be held at Martin United Methodist Church, 969 E. Allegan St., Martin, MI. The family asks friends and family to join them and also share in a luncheon immediately following. Cremation has taken place and memorials may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice of Allegan County.
