Shirley Eugene Hawkins, age 72, of Muskegon, passed away Sunday evening, January 1, 2012 at the Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence in Muskegon.

The daughter of Delbert & Ellen (Benjamin) Pitts, she was born on October 13, 1939 in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard E. Hawkins, Sr.

Surviving are children, Debra McNees, Steve Hawkins and Willard E. Hawkins Jr.

Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Michigan Cremation Company, Grand Rapids.
