Shelley D. Brune age 56 of Carson City passed away early Thursday morning, October 9, 2014 at her home under the loving care of her family and hospice.
The daughter of Homer & Hazel (Kelly) Fore, she was born on February 24, 1958 in Washington, D.C. On June 18, 1999, in Stanton, she married Carl R. Brune and together they made their home in Carson City.
Shelley was a remarkable woman who battled cancer for 12 years while seldom letting it get her down. She worked at McKinley Trucking with her husband, loved to go camping in the RV, shop with her daughter, watch old movies and travel to warmer climates in the
winter.
Her father, Homer Fore, and a brother, Kelly Rockholt, both preceded her in death.
Shelley will be sadly missed by her husband, Carl Brune; her mother Hazel Ochoa, both of Carson City; daughter Marissa Zaleski and fiance Kody Johnson of Vestaburg; step-children, Craig (Melaine) Brune of Alma, Debora (Brian) Mitchell of Beaverton, Oregon, Dr. Adrienne Brune of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Margot (Jeff) Ostrander of Breckenridge; a very loving and caring sister-in-law, Laura George of Crystal; and many dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Shelleys life from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Exit 57 Activity Facilities 10010 E. Carson City Road, Carson City, with a memorial service beginning at 2:30 p.m. officiated by Pastor Mike McAlvey. A time of food and fellowship will follow at the ceremony.
As Shelley wished, cremation has taken place and contributions in her memory to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. To send a message of sympathy to the family, sign Shelleys online guest book, or to share a favorite memory, please visit: www.ChristiansenCares.com
Arrangements were entrusted to Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, Greenville.
