Ryan Michael Wilson, age 31, of Ionia, formerly of Greenville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 14, 2015 in Ionia. The son of Jeffery L. & Sherri Lynn (Jewell) Wilson, he was born on June 29, 1983 in Grand Rapids and was a 2002 graduate of Greenville High School.

Ryan had previously worked at Graphite Engineering as a machinist and was to start a new job with Ventra Manufacturing. He loved tractors — especially John Deere — and enjoyed playing cards and games of skill, shooting pool and pitching horseshoes. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge in Ionia.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles "Chuck" & Dorothy Wilson; his maternal grandfather, Robert "Bob" Jewell, Jr.; and his step-father, Joseph "Bud" Clarke.

Surviving are his mother, Sherri Jewell-Owen of Monument, Colorado; his father, Jeff & Lori Wilson of Ionia; two brothers, Kyle Clarke & Tia Gibbs of Grand Rapids, and Austin Wilson & Hester Brown of Ionia; maternal grandmother, Connie & Jim Wright of Sebring, Florida; aunts and uncles, Scott Jewell of Grand Rapids, Steve & Linda Wright of Avon Park, Florida, Tracy & Jason Snyder of Canadian Lakes, Charles & Karen Wilson, Jr. of Grand Ledge, Roger & Brenda Wilson of Ionia, and Deb Wilson and her partner, Cara Howe, of Grand Rapids; a step-brother and a step-sister, Mitchell Owen, and Marissa Owen, both of Greenville; a special friend, Elizabeth Spencer of Ionia; many great aunts, great uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation with the family is from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, with memorial services being held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the First Congregational Church (corner of Cass and Clay streets), Greenville, with The Rev. Ian Macdonald officiating.

Following the memorial service, relatives and friends are invited to join Ryan's family beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the Ionia Moose Lodge, 869 E. Lincoln Avenue, to celebrate his life and share in a time of food and fellowship.

Instead of flowers, relatives and friends are asked to consider Ryan's final expenses. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the funeral home and the church or donations may be made online at: http://www.gofundme.com/mhe6s0

    Dearest Ryan
You have been a big part of my son Justin Yost life for many years. I think of you and Kyle as part of our family. Your loss will ALLWAYS have a big impact in our lives. I know the past couple years we didn’t see much of each other but I ALLWAYS have you in my heart and will forever miss you.
Do you remember the 4th of July at my house when you were sitting in the driveway in your truck and you just got new big tires ? You were headed to silver lake and all the sudden they started to pop like a drive by shooting!!! Lol I dropped on the ground thinking it was a drive by! It was so funny later but at the time you were pretty upset because the tires shop was closed until Tuesday after the holiday. You were stuck at our house! A lot of great memories with you and Kyle ! I will do anything I can to try and look out for your mom and your brother for you Ryan. Know that my family loves you and you will always be in are hearts. Remember your a shooting star Ryan ! XOXO
