Ruthie Lorraine Alcala, age 46, of Sheridan, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at home under the loving care of her family and Spectrum Health Hospice.
The daughter of Ruth Lorraine (Leonard) and Terry Brown, she was born on March 6, 1971 in Ionia. Ruthie spent most of her working years as a sales associate with Meijer and later Toys R Us.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Bobby Alcala; and a brother, Scott Alcala.
Surviving are her son, Jeff Alcala; her grandson, Brayden Alcala; her parents, Terry & Ruth Brown; a very special niece, Kiera Hickerson; many sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The family invites relatives and friends to celebrate Ruthie's life with them from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at her parents' home, 4174 S. Miles Road, Sheridan.

Ruthie rest in the arms of GOD !!!! You was a fighter for many years and you did it & now you was just tired so you went to sleep. Cousin Ruthie you are going to be missed ABUNDANTLY by many people. Your an angle for alot of family and friends. I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU SO MUCH !!!!! Go spread your beautiful wings and that smile you have.
