Rolando Pierre Jr., age 53, of Kentwood, passed away unexpectedly on June 9, 2019.

Rolando Pierre Jr, age 53, died on Sunday, June 9, 2019 in Grand Rapids Michigan at Metro hospital. From his birth in Jean Rabel, on June 12th, 1965 to his death on Sunday June 9th he nourished people around him with love, faith, and laughter. Rolando transitioned to the United States at the age of 26 and lived in Tampa Florida until 2001. In 2001 he followed his heart and his love which was his first born Rosheed Kenny Pierre to Grand Rapids Michigan and have settled here until his death on June 9th 2019. Rolando was a hard worker and a family man. He received his Associate degree from Hillsborough Community College in Tampa Florida as well as his formal training for water treatment. He worked in the water treatment field for over 10 years; after he departed from this field, he started his own transportation business. Rolando loved playing dominoes with his friends and his family, he was always the life of a domino party. Rolando was a very comical guy where he felt compelled to make you laugh at every interaction or on a phone call. Rolando loved the color red which represents love, strength and determination. Red symbolizes the love of God represented through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. Rolando Pierre and Sandra Zamor were high school sweet hearts. They reconnected back in 1999 in Tampa Florida, and in 2000 their first Son Kenny was born. Although their relationship did not flourish, their love for their children is incomparable. Rolando is preceded in death by his father; Joe Pierre and mother; Camitha Jean-Gilles. He is survived by his children, Rosheed Kenny Pierre, and Mischka Pierre. Sisters: Mitha, Yolande, Marie Marthe, and Sarah. Brother: Moise Pierre. Nieces and nephews: Sideline, Amos, Jacques, Rochelin, Sabrina, Edjuna, along with many aunts and uncles, sister and brother in laws, and many friends that loved and cared for him.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Grand Rapids International Fellowship, 3765 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508.  A funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 am.  Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Wyoming.
