Roger Allen Williams, age 50, of Cedar Springs, formerly of Greenville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, November 29, 2009 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids.
The son of Milo & Helen Ann (Miller) Williams, he was born on Sept. 1, 1959 in Greenville and attended Belding Area Schools. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Roger had worked in construction and helped in the building of the new auditorium at Greenville High School.
An avid music lover, he was an amateur musician, attended many concerts, enjoyed computers, and video games, as well as camping especially at the Three Seasons Campground.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Melissa, and many aunts and uncles. Surviving are his children, Timothy Lee, Billy Jack, Racheal LaTasha & Shawn, Raven Melissa, and Rebecca Lynn; the childrens mothers, Dana and Veronica; his grandchildren, Autumn, Rose Marie, Jaden, Carys, and Jeremy; his siblings, Michael, Mark, James & Sharon, Tammi & Richard, and Edward.
Also surviving are his best friends of 30-plus years and siblings of the heart, Penny Tompkins and Bill Nelson; an aunt, Patricia; three uncles, George, Robert & Annie, and Bobby & Carol; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many close friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, 2009 at Greenville Community Church, 6596 S. Vining Road, with a time of food and fellowship following. Pastor Joel Heron will officiate and family and friends are encouraged to wear there favorite concert T-shirt in tribute to Roger. Military honors, rendered by the U.S. Navy, will conclude the ceremonies.
Instead of flowers, relatives and friends are asked to consider the needs of the family. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the church.

Dear dad I miss you more and more everyday. I know I was your little stranger but all I wanted was to know you. Life is kinda funny I guess you never know what to expect just like when Lynn went into labor I knew before she did and dad I also knew before you did I tried to change the motion events I am sorry I didn’t reach you I feel I failed you, and my family and I am sorry for that I guess I should have stayed your little stranger!
