Roger W. Lebeck, age 89, of Sidney, passed away early Saturday morning, June 11, 2016 at his home under the loving care of his family and Heartland Hospice.  The son of William D. & Elva (Strong) Lebeck, he was born on  November 6, 1926 and was a proud veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army.

On February 27, 1948, in Lakeview, he married Naomi Jean Main and together they enjoyed 67 years of marriage until Naomi passed away on December 18, 2015.  For over 34 years Roger worked at the former Gibson Refrigerator Company, in addition to farming.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was a long time member of the Stanton American Legion Post No. 452 and liked playing cribbage and euchre.

He was preceded in death by his parents;  his wife, Naomi Jean Lebeck;  a brother, Fay;  two sisters, LaVonne and Judy;  a grandson, Roger Lebeck, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Echo Jean Cooper-Sower; 

Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Roger & Marcia Lebeck, Joel "Joe" Lebeck, and Gerald & Linda Lebeck, all of Sidney;  a daughter and son-in-law, Rojeanna Lebeck-Holbrook & Volley Holbrook of Edmore;  a sister and brother-in-law, Linda & Michael Keys of Middleville;  fifteen grandchildren;  twenty-eight great grandchildren;  and eighteen great-great grandchildren;  and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family is from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.  Roger's cousin, Pastor Bob Jones, will officiate and a family committal service will follow at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding, with military honors rendered by the Stanton American Legion Honor Guard.

    I’m so sorry for your loss just remember that his pain is finally over and he is reunited with his true love .and the are watching over you so remember that when you are sad they they are near and in a better place. Again sorry for your loss Roget was a great man
