Even though we were not blood you were my father. I cherish all the memories good and bad . The good outweighs the bad by far. The countless rides in your betsies rubbing the dash as though she could hear you. I’m trying not to think of how you looked or how much pain you were in the last few months of your life. I want to remember the spunky little guy that felt like he was ten feet tall and had that way of making everyone laugh. I truly am sorry I wasn’t there when you left this world. I just couldn’t see you like that and it’s eating me inside because I know you needed all your kids at that moment. I know that I will see you again as long as I keep my faith in God. I will cherish the last few times I was with you and I love you more than you knew. Rest father , your son David ( Buckshot) Russell
