My deepest sympathy goes out to all the good folks that were related to Mr. Vandenburg. He was an amazing man. Every week we would be in the same Sunday School class and then the church services. And whenever I came up to him to shake hands he would smile that smile of his that brightened the rest of my day. I sent him and Mrs. Vandenburg a card each week and I have been told that he kept all the cards I sent up on the edge in his room. What is Heaven’s gain is our loss. I sure am going to miss that wonderful Christian man. From Miss Becky

Even though it’s been a few years, since I talked with Roger. I can honestly say, He was one of the most nicest and genuine person, I ever met. Sorry to all family and friends. Just remember all the good times!

I was with sadness I learned of Roger’s passing. I met Roger many years ago when he was an Awana leader in Butternut. It was great to reconnect with him through my job at Big L when I worked the sales counter. My deepest sympathy to all of his family at this difficult time. Roger was an outstanding individual and left a lasting impression on me from the time we met at Awana. God Bless You All.

We remember Roger from our early days at Hiawatha Bible Church, back in the early 70’s. He was a very active part of the Gospel Wings Missionary Translation Team and I know his advice and input into this organization was well thought of. Our prayers are with all of the family.

We are sorry for your loss. Roger was a good man, neighbor and friend.

When we wanted to have an addition on our house we went to our neighbor Roger. Three additions and a major kitchen remodel later and everything was always done right with no complaints. We couldn’t have had a better contractor and neighbor.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Judy, Jeff, LeeAnn and their family’s.

    Judy and family,
Our deepest sympathy to you all for your loss. Roger was such a gentleman. He and Jeff built our house 21 years ago and did such a wonderful job. May you find comfort in your memories.
