Roger C. Ellen, age 76, of Walker, passed away after a long battle of Kidney disease on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 surrounded by friends and family.

The son of Russel J. & Mildred E. (Courter) Ellen, he was born on June 1, 1941 in Grand Rapids. Roger always made people laugh and had quite the sense of humor until the end. He was an avid stamp collector and enjoyed reading. Most importantly Roger was a devout Catholic who was strong in his faith.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Keith Ellen and Richard Ellen; sisters, Joyce Simons and Barbara Carlton. He is survived by his close friends, Paul Spica, Anthony and Nataile; along with many nieces; nephews; and friends.

A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary service starting at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 20th, at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Ave. S.E., Grand Rapids (one block west of Eastern Ave.).  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. with Father Mark Przybysz officiating on Monday, August 21st, at St. Anthony of Padua, 2510 Richmond St. N.W., Grand Rapids, with visitation one hour prior and a luncheon to follow the service. Private committal at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers per Rogers request donations can be made for Masses at St. Anthony of Padua for Roger.
