Robert Elwyn Jensen, 80, of Edmore, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Masonic Pathways in Alma.  The son of Elwyn Harvey & Letha Eloise (Outman) Jensen, he was born on July 16, 1934 in Edmore.

Carol Joan Jensen, age 79, of Edmore, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at Masonic Pathways in Alma.  The daughter of James and Jane (Boonenburg) VanderPloeg, she was born on July 17, 1936 in Grand Rapids. 

Bob and Carol were married on September 9, 1960 in McBride and together they lived on a farm outside of McBride, planting and harvesting, while raising their two children, Susie and Chris. They enjoyed going on many family vacations throughout the country.

In addition to farming they both worked outside the home…  Bob retiring from the former Electrolux Home Products after 30 years of service, while Carol served as the secretary at Faith United Methodist Church for over 25 years.  In retirement they found their greatest joy in time spent with their granddaughters.

Both their parents preceded them in death, as well as Carol's siblings, Betty & Bill Wittie, James VanderPloeg, and Patricia & Herman Klunder.

Surviving are their daughter, Susie & John Ayris of Blanchard, and son, Chris Jensen of Greenville, Alabama;  granddaughters, Nicole and Kaylee Ayris of Blanchard;  Bob's sister, Beverly & Richard Bigelow of Greenville;  Bob's brother, Lane Jensen of Edmore;  and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family is from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Faith United Methodist Church , 833 S. First Street, Edmore, where memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2015. 

Contributions in memory of Carol may be directed to Faith United Methodist Church (833 S. First Street, Edmore, Michigan 48829) while contributions in memory of Bob may be directed to either the church or Parkinson’s Association of West Michigan (260 Jefferson S.E. – Ste. 210, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503).
