Robert Clifton "Bob Jr." Morgan, age 49, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday evening, September 13, 2017 at Spectrum Health-United Hospital in Greenville. The son of Robert I. & Norma J. (Peterman) Morgan, he was born on August 22, 1968, in Greenville. Bob had attended the Forest Grove School and Seiter Education Center and earned his diploma. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions, enjoyed listening to music (especially Johnny Cash), and his favorite television shows included Wheel of Fortune, The Price is Right, and Jeopardy. Bob was a part of the church family at Calvary Baptist Church in Greenville.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Michelle Mae Morgan in 1966; his grandparents, Norman & Donna Peterman; and his step-grandfather, John Arnold. Surviving are his parents, Robert "Bob" & Norma Morgan of Greenville; a sister, Shona Morgan & Dave Jewel; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Arnold; a niece and two nephews, Keri Morgan, Michael Bowerman, and Kevin Bowerman; a great nephew, Nathan Bowerman; uncles and aunts, Carl & Cheryl Morgan, Kenneth Morgan & Mickie Baker, Terry & Lynette Peterman, David & Carolyn Peterman, and Betty & Jim Laurent; and several cousins.
Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church, 12501 Montcalm Avenue N.E., Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rev. R. Mark Shaw, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, will officiate and burial will take place privately at Evergreen Township Cemetery near Sheridan.
Instead of flowers, contributions in Bob's memory may be directed Calvary Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the church. The family wishes to extend their special thanks to all of Bob's teachers and caregivers over the years, and especially the nursing staff in the Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit at Spectrum Health-United Hospital, as well as Dr. VanLaan, Dr. Fabris, Dr. Coleman, and Bob's longtime physician, Dr. Kevin Reed, and Bob's dentist, Dr. John O'Donald.
