In retirement Richard owned The Links at Bowen Lake, where he and Sherrie made their home, in addition to keeping his hand in the transportation business as owner of R&S Rentals. Besides his family and business, Richard was also passionate about politics and had served on the Belding City Council, as well as being an avid bowler and golfer.

Sherry and Family, The news of Rich’s passing saddens me and please accept my condelences and sympathy. Rich taught me many lessons while i was a young man working with him at Goodremonts, i will always value his friendship, patience with me, and his forever kind heart. He touched many lives and all are a little better because of his unigue outlook on life. I know Dolores always loved Rich. They can have a beer together now.

Rich, Thank you! I remember when: You gave, You gave me your time, when I was a pup, you saw an opportunity to live. You made sure I learned how to bowl, swim, waterski, fish and never cared about losing the pole in the lake. You gave, and gave some more after that. You were always there for me. thank you. It is really that simple I had nobody else, you saw something in me that nobody else ever had seen, Thank you, thank you so much. You have an incredible gift, you had them all but this one particular gift you have was to see into the inner most parts of me and so many others and you approached the situation and ministered your life. You are the best of what God had to offer, you have left a legacy that will live forever. I love you Rich.
