Mr. Richard Lee Joe” Headley, age 66, of Stanton, passed away Thursday morning, Dec. 11, 2008 under the loving care of his family and Mid-Michigan Home Care & Hospice. The son of Leo & Alberta (Colegrove) Headley, he was born on Nov. 30, 1942 in Brevort Township in Michigans Upper Pennisula.
On Dec. 31, 1990, he married Donna Jean Stanton. An avid outdoorsman, Joe loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed playing cards as well as the slot machines at the casino. He retired from the former Gibson Refrigerator Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Virgil & Alberta Headley, Bob & Pat Headley, and Leon Headley.
Surviving are his wife, Donna J. Headley of Stanton; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Meg & Cecil Riley, Jean & Denny Chrisman, all of Greenville, and Mary & Claude VanZandt of Trufant; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Leonard & Barb Headley of Langston, Jerry Headley of Greenville, Don Headley of St. Louis, and Sharon Headley of Belding; his favorite step-daughter, Diana & Scott Evans of Sheridan; three step-sons, Roger & Deb Jones of Fenwick, Jim McKinley of Stanton, Carl & Tabitha Jones of Arizona; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
The family invites relatives and friends to gather and remember Joes life on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. at the family home, 232 W. Bradford Street, Stanton. Honoring Joes wishes cremation will take place.
