Phillip Terry Everts, age 67, of Edmore, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Spectrum Health-Blodgett Hospital in East Grand Rapids after a brief illness.  The son of Russell Olaf "Russ" & Marian Pearl (Button) Everts, he was born on April 9, 1948 in Greenville and was a graduate of Central Montcalm High School.

Terry was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Germany during the Vietnam War, and had been a member of the Ray I. Booth American Legion Post 101 in Greenville.  He retired from the former R.J. Tower Automotive where he worked in the shipping department, enjoyed salmon fishing, and going out to eat… especially at the Chinese buffet.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russ Everts on November 13, 1998;  his mother, Marian Everts on October 25, 1999;  and a brother, Russell Lee "Skip" Everts on March 29, 1964.

Surviving are a son, Terry Everts of Sheridan;  a grandson, Terry Lee Everts II;  his best friend and companion, Bonnie Palmer of Edmore;  two sisters, Judy Johnston & Bill Jorgensen of Greenville, and Susan & Joseph Ringleka of Stanton;  a maternal aunt, Rose Davis of Lansing;  and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Honoring Terry's wishes, cremation has taken place and private committal services, with military honors, will be held at East Montcalm Cemetery in the spring.  Instead of flowers, contributions in memory of Terry are suggested to the donor's favorite charity.
