Peggy Jean Licence, age 75, of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord on Friday, November 25, 2011. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Margaret Licence; and an aunt, Eleanor.

Peggy was a life-long member of East Congregational United Church of Christ., having been baptized there as a child and looked forward to attending every Sunday. Peggy was truly one of God’s treasures… having volunteered for many years at the Michigan Blood Center (Fuller Avenue) and at the former Metropolitan Hospital.

Surviving are a cousin, Chuck (Shirley) VanNorwick of Traverse City. She will also be missed by many including friends she worked with at the Blood Center, Dorcelle Haines and her friends living at Nana’s House, Kim VanNess from Thresholds, Pastor Sam and Charlene Waldron, and special friends Ellie Fife Dykema, Sandra Fyfe Delaney, Ana Dunn and Amanda Ecklesdafer. A special thank you to the staff at Spectrum Health Continuing Care Center and her guardian, The Rev. John R. Kirkman, who loved and cared for Peggy.

A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6th at East Congregational U.C.C., 1005 Giddings Ave. S.E., Grand Rapids. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider making donations to East Congregational U.C.C.
