Paul Allen Parkins, 81, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at University of Michigan: Metro Health Hospital.

 

He was born on August 14, 1937, in Grand Rapids, to the late Charles & Marguerite (Donald) Parkins.

 

Paul proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

 

He worked as a sanitation engineer and retired from Waste Management.

 

Paul enjoyed bowling, playing baseball, softball and most of all, spending time with his family.

 

Survivors include his children, Beth Bowling, Shelly (Thomas) Swainston, Tamlalee (Isaac) Felty, Edgar (Jennine) Davies, December (Ramiro) Medellin and David Davies;  grandchildren, Jason, Julie, Crystal, Michael, Antaneta, Robert and Ashley;  many great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.  He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Diane Parkins; and a grandsons, Tommy Swainston and Jonathan Turner; and son-in-law, David Bowling.

 

Visitation with the family is from 11:00 am -12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Avenue S.E. Grand Rapids. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., with Military Honors to follow.  Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.

    So Sorry Dee for your loss your Dad is a very nice person I remember when he use to catch us we would get in trouble but, you knew he cared R.I.P. Mr. Parkin’s I,know you use to tell me call me by my name
