Mrs. Patsy Marie Crater, age 64, of Greenville, passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 16, 2006 at her home. The daughter of George & Viola (Dukes) Parrish, she was born on Nov. 15, 1941 in Adrian.

For many years Patsy worked as a care provider at Greenville Acres and Quality adult foster care homes. On May 6, 1995, in Amble, she married David Owen Crater. Together, they attended Hillcrest Free Methodist Church in Greenville, until Patsys poor health prevented her from leaving home. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Cleveland-Wolverton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Greenville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Junior Parrish; and two sisters, Beverly Smith, and Shirley Cope. Surviving are her husband, David Crater of Greenville; her children, Jimmy & Linda Burkett of Crystal, Rickie & Judy Burkett of Daytona, Fla., Christopher & Shelley Burkett, Jeffrey & Kim Burkett, Linda Phillips, all of Greenville, Shawn Burkett of Lake, and Jolynn Orvis of Greenville; her step-children, Arice & Richard Basney of Greenville, James & Marilyn Crater of Ionia, John Crater, Mark Crater, both of Greenville, Richard & Phyliis Crater of Wayland, and Anthony & Barb Crater of Greenville; three brothers and a sister, Dave Parrish, Dale & Sheila Parrish, George & May Parrish, and Lucille Kellogg; siblings-in-law, Joyce Finkhouse, Nancy & Will Spencer, Kay Crater, and Richard & Flora Crater; 27 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 20, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hillcrest Free Methodist Church, (corner of Hillcrest Street and Chase Road), Greenville, with visitation from 12-1 p.m. at the church. The Rev. Byron Davey, pastor of the Hillcrest Free Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be Crystal Township Cemetery.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions in memory of Patsy. Envelopes will be available at the church.
