Orville Jacob Cooper, age 82, formerly of Belding, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at home in Grand Rapids.  The son of Clyde Jacob & Elsie May (Sheldon) Cooper, he was born on September 2, 1934 in Lowell.  Orville retired from the former General Tire plant in Ionia where he worked in maintenance.

On August 28, 1976, in Belding, he married Dianna Jean (Sanders) Tiff and together they enjoyed nearly 35 years of marriage until Dianna passed away on April 11, 2011.  He was also preceded in death by his parents;  and a brother, George Cooper.

Surviving are his daughter, Virgie & Paul Jones of Belding;  a step-daughter, Laura & Timothy Jordan of Grand Rapids; two step-sons, Todd & Christina Tiff of Wayland, and Michael Tiff; three sisters, Geraldine Judeika of Grand Rapids, Margaret Antcliff of Belding, Ruth & Reuben Kaptein of Hudsonville;  a brother, Ervin & Eula Cooper of Brown City; two grandchildren, Dakotah Jones of Belding, and Katarina Jones of Greenville;  five step-grandchildren, Jeremiah Jordan, Jacob Jordan, Jared Jordan,  Todd Tiff Jr., and Ulrich Tiff; five step-great grandchildren, Lillian Jordan, Madison Jordan, Hunter Jordan, Ethan Jordan, and Conner Jordan; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family is Friday from 10-11 a.m. Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care,  511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.  Pastor Bill Overton of Family Life Church of God in Belding and Deacon Dan Schneider of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Belding will co-officiate and a luncheon will follow the ceremony at the Family Life Church of God in Belding.  

Instead of flowers, Orville would have appreciated memorial contributions to the Family Life Center Church of God in Belding.  Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
